We are honoured to share this tribute, written by her family.
The Keane Families Testimonial
My Shining Star came into our lives Christmas 2019. Our daughter, Orlagh, was at The Royal Marsden having treatment when she was invited to come and chose a gift for herself and one for each of her siblings. It was Anita & Heather who put on this wonderful treat for the children. That was sadly Orlaghs last Christmas.
When losing Orlagh My Shining Star yet again stepped in with support. Emotionally, financially and sending treats for Orlaghs siblings. Anita arranged for Orlaghs older brother who was 12 when she passed to go and meet an Arsenal player after he sent him a personal message. He got to watch the derby game in a VIP box, video and photos with the player and a signed shirt. He wanted to do this so much he actually went with a grade 5 ruptured spleen from getting an injury that morning playing football himself. We was not to know that until the following morning when he was blue lighted to Kings. That's how important it was to him. At a later date he received a gift from the Arsenal GK Leno, who was his hero.
As a family we hold My Shining Star very dear to our hearts. Seeing Orlaghs face as one of the charities poster girls makes us feel so proud. Spending time with the ladies from My Shining Star feels like spending time with family. 5 years on from losing Orlagh we still try to have regular contact and help out by giving back wherever we can. Orlaghs twin sister made soooo many gonks to sell to raise over £1k for the charity. In September we hosted a ball in memory of Orlagh and all the warriors to raise even more for the charity. We have shared in fun days with the staff from Christmas Grottos, summer fun days and football charity events. I have attached some photos.
